Need an Emergency Locksmith?

My keys are inside the property!

If you're on the wrong side of the door as your keys, you most likely are going to need a locksmith. Our engineers are equipped with various tools designed to get you back in!

I've lost my keys!

If you've lost your keys. Don't panic. Be sure to retrace your steps the best you can. If after hunting high and low you still can't find them. Give us a call! We are equipped with various tools to allow access without causing any damage (known as non-destructive entry). If no non-destructive methods are unsuccessful we have various destructive methods that will see you home!

Note: Destructive methods only attack the lock in most cases, not the door itself. In some cases a hole may be required for access but is usually concealed behind the handle where possible.

My lock isn't working properly.

If you're having troubles with your lock, perhaps it's not locking smoothly or it takes a little more force than normal to engage. Maybe it isn't working at all!

There are many reasons your lock can fail, it's always best to get it checked out as soon as possible from a qualified locksmith.

My key has broken in the lock.

Keys snapping in the lock are very common so you are not alone!

Should you find yourself in this situation you might want to try remove it yourself. Please be aware that sticking anything into the lock... Yes even super glue... can lead to bigger issues!

Get in touch if your key has snapped! We can in most cases retrieve the broken key from the lock and get you back on your way in no time.

My keys have been stolen.

If your keys have been stolen, first step is to report it to the police!

Especially if there is anything on it that should reveal your address or knowledge of where the keys might open (for example: Storage units, Garage, Key tags with Address)

Once you have done this, You're going to want in to your property. Contact us today and we will sort that out for you! Our locksmiths carry most lock types and sizes and will be able to change them over straight away. Getting rid of that worry that someone may try to access your property with your lost keys.

I'm renting my property but I am locked out - who do I call?

In most cases, if you are renting your property, you will have an emergency contact line for your letting agent or landlords contact details. If you manage to get through to them they should arrange a locksmith for you! If you can't get through to them you may need to call someone yourself. Please be aware that if you call a locksmith without prior approval from you landlord or letting agent you may be liable for the bill dependent on what the issue is.

Locks Changed

There are numerous reasons why you may want your locks changed... whether you've mislaid your keys or its a matter of urgency. Our locally based locksmiths can be with you in no time at all!

Moving Home

If you have just moved house you may wish to get the locks changed.

Can you really be sure you received all the keys to your property when you collected the keys? It's just not worth the risk, with a burglary occurring every 40 seconds in the UK alone. Unlox don't want you to become another statistic.

uPVC Doors

uPVC doors are becoming more and more popular. All our locksmiths are uPVC specialists and 9 times out of 10 we are able to replace your lock on the first visit! All our locks come with a minimum of 3 keys and 12 months warranty!

Wooden Doors

Wooden doors are still extremely popular and are usually fitted with a "mortice lock" or sometimes in combination with a "night latch" too. This is more commonly known as a yale type lock.

As with uPVC doors we are specilaists in security so more often than not we will have the correct replacement available on the first visit! Mortice locks usually come with 2 keys minimum and night latches 3 keys minimum.

All carrying the same 12 month minimum warranty.

British Standard Locks

What is a British standard lock?

A ‘British Standard’ lock must undergo rigorous testing including strength, durability and of course security, these products are also re-assessed and re-tested to ensure you have complete confidence in the safety, quality and reliability of the locks you have installed in your home.

On the face of any lock that is a ‘British Standard’ lock you will see the British Standard Kitemark, this may also be accompanied by BS: 3621 2007 (mortice locks) or BS: TS007 (Euro cylinders) which are the current British Standard required for Insurance purposes.

Home Insurance

When changing the locks for your home you may ask yourself why you should adhere to meeting any requirements listed by your insurance provider. By not meeting the requirements as stated by your provider you may run the risk of invalidating your insurance when making a claim.

If you have any doubts about which locks you need or require as per your home insurance policy requirements, contact us and we can assist you in getting the right ones fitted!
